Communications Coordinator – 12 Hours per week

Position Description: The Communications Coordinator is to assist the leadership in the creation of high-quality communication in the life of Terrigal Uniting Church. The role is responsible for communicating with the worshiping members of our church and the wider community through written and visual methods. It involves working closely with the Minister of the Word (MOW) and Elders to communicate key messages within the church and out into the community in keeping with the theology and practice of Terrigal Uniting Church.

Tasks include:

  • Various design tasks, including but not limited to: Weekly Electronic Communication, Promotional Flyers for activities and events, Website and Social Media Platforms
  • Conceptualise and execute Marketing strategies for church events and activities
  • Create and/or edit general church communications (e.g. advice of new processes or upcoming meetings/votes)

Role Specific:    

  • Effective personal time management, planning and control skills
  • Excellent oral communication, presentation, negotiation and discussion skills
  • Capacity to develop constructive relationships with other personnel within Terrigal Uniting Church
  • Advanced technical computer and multimedia skills
  • Demonstrated creative ability
  • Understanding of social media and its potential to communicate – and display safe use thereof
  • Liaising with and supporting external stakeholders as required

Essential:

  • Strong Christian faith and commitment to spiritual development
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills with experience on a wide range of software
  • Proven administration and organisational skills
  • Hold a working with children clearance issued by the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian and verified on-line by the employer and willing to have a NSW Police heck
